The U.S. Solar Heating & Cooling Alliance is a division of SEIA focused on growing the solar heating & cooling market through reducing barriers and advocating for policies on the federal, state, and local levels.
The objectives of the SHC Alliance are:
- Vision: Catalyze a common vision and raise awareness with all stakeholders- including policymakers, potential customers, investors and financiers
- Coordination: Serve as the coordinated go-to voice on industry issues to ensure your interests are protected
- Collaboration: Energize the industry through collaboration and funding of collective priorities
- Action: Maintain and develop markets for your business to be a success!
Support for the SHC Alliance comes from industry members through active participation in the many task force groups and through financial contributions to the U.S. Solar Heating & Cooling Advocacy Fund. The SHC Alliance also performs outreach to media outlets on SHC issues and works with other stakeholders to promote solar heating & cooling, including groups such as the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Sierra Club, Environment America, Business Council for Sustainable Energy (BCSE), and others.
The SHC Alliance is governed by the SHC Council which consists of elected leaders and contributing members at a certain level of contribution to the SHC Advocacy Fund. The elected leaders consist of a Chair, Vice-Chair, Treasurer, and two additional rotating members.
