For Reverend Dr. Julie Josund, caring for the health of our planet goes hand-in-hand with the Christian faith. Josund, a pastor at Edmonds Lutheran Church in Washington State, has long envisioned a church that exemplifies her belief. Recently, her vision turned to reality.

The church was selected to have solar panels installed by the Solarize South County Community Coalition, a citizen led initiative to implement and raise awareness of solar power. Still, the project would not have been possible without A&R Solar, a leading installation company in the Pacific Northwest, that assisted in financing the system.

"Donating a system is our way of saying 'thanks' and giving back to a community that supported us, while also raising awareness to the fact that solar works in western Washington," said A&R Solar CFO Dave Kozin.

While the project may cut the church’s electricity bill, Reverend Josund is focused on how their new system can benefit the public.

"Having solar panels on our church actively visible is a perfect way to get the word out about renewable energy options to many people," she said. "We are thrilled to have this partnership with A&R Solar and look forward to a fruitful collaboration in sharing the benefits of solar energy to our friends and neighbors in Edmonds."
