SCOTT FENN - DIRECTOR OF RESEARCH
Scott Fenn joined SEIA in August 2011 and oversees SEIA's economic, policy, markets and business research efforts. Prior to joining SEIA, Scott served in a variety of senior positions at policy and research organizations, including as President at the Investor Responsibility Research Center (IRRC) and as Senior Managing Director for Policy at Proxy Governance Inc. He has more than twenty years of experience working on energy, sustainability and corporate governance issues and has authored three books and numerous analytic studies on these topics. Scott holds a BA in economics from Williams College, where he was editor of the college newspaper.
Scott also serves as a board member of the Sustainable Investments Institute (Si2), a non-profit proxy research firm. He lives in Silver Spring, Maryland, with his wife, Carole, and enjoys bicycling, skiing, photography and strategic boardgames.
JUSTIN BACA - SENIOR RESEARCH MANAGER
Justin Baca assists in the development and implementation of SEIA's research agenda in coordination with the Government Affairs department, Communications department and Market Research Committee. Since joining SEIA in July 2008, he has lead the production of SEIA's annual report on the state of the solar industry, the U.S. Solar Industry Year in Review, managed several major policy analysis projects.
Justin holds a Masters of Public Administration from the Maxwell School and a B.A. in Government from Cornell University.
WILL LENT - RESEARCH & POLICY ANALYST
Will Lent provides policy and research analysis for SEIA. Before joining SEIA, Will interned for the New York Power Authority, where he worked on the development of renewable energy projects throughout New York State. Will holds a Masters of Management from Duke University's Fuqua School of Business and a B.A. in Political Science from Davidson College. In his spare time, he enjoys cheering on the New York Rangers and playing hockey.
SHAWN RUMERY - RESEARCH ASSOCIATE
Shawn provides research and analysis support for SEIA. In an earlier role, he worked closely with the National Solar Database. Before joining SEIA, Shawn worked as a survey researcher for the University of Illinois at Chicago. He holds a BA in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Juniata College and is currently pursuing an MPA degree at The George Washington University. In his spare time he enjoys running, hiking, and planning excursions back to his native Maine.
MARI HERNANDEZ - RESEARCH ASSOCIATE
Mari Hernandez manages SEIA's National Solar Database and provides research and analysis on the solar industry in the U.S. Prior to joining SEIA, Mari's background included working with Hurricane Katrina survivors, providing case management services to homeless families, and, most recently, interning with the Environmental Defense Fund. Mari holds a Masters of Public Affairs with a specialization in Natural Resources and the Environment from the University of Texas at Austin and a B.A. in International Studies from the University of North Texas. In her spare time, she enjoys playing soccer, hiking and traveling.
