Grassroots and Advocacy
SEIA's government affairs team works every day to bring the positive message of solar energy to lawmakers on Capitol Hill. Most lawmakers, however, are less interested in hearing from D.C. lobbyists than from the people living and working in their home districts. This is why it's so important to have help from the solar industry workers and proponents around the country.
Together, we can reach every lawmaker in the U.S. Congress. As a constituent, your voice carries more weight with your elected officials than any pundit or lobbyist. Join the Solar Power Advocacy Network and we'll help you tell your lawmakers to make solar energy jobs a top priority.
After joining our online advocacy efforts, we'll periodically send you emails when your representatives in Congress are considering a policy that's relevant to the solar industry. Typically, we will provide some background information on the issue and a form email to your legislator that you can customize. In some cases, we may ask you to write a letter-to-the-editor for your local news publication or make a phone call to your representative's office. While the specific activity may vary, it will always support our pro-solar policy agenda.
