The 2009 PV America in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania attracted more than 2,300 industry attendees, 138 exhibitors, and more than 1,700 local residents who toured the exhibit hall on Public Day, where they were given free admission to see the latest innovations in PV technology and opportunities to install clean, affordable solar energy on their homes and businesses.The 2011 PV America conference will feature educational sessions on business development, workforce development, finance, market development, policy, and marketing. Sessions will also cover how the solar industry has been affected by stimulus bill funding. Among the keynote speakers in 2009 were Gov. Ed Rendell of Pennsylvania, former CIA director and national solar advocate James Woolsey, Gov. Jack Markell of Delaware, Mayor Michael Nutter of Philadelphia, Rhone Resch, President and CEO of SEIA and solar visionary Jigar Shah.
