SEIA supports the creation of a Clean Energy Bank as an independent, wholly owned government corporation to support renewable energy industries via direct loans, loan guarantees, insurance and other credit mechanisms.

The Department of Energy's Loan Guarantee Program has existed since 2005. Its mission is to deploy clean, ready-to-commercialize energy technologies across the U.S. Dozens of solar energy companies have applied for a loan guarantee to help finance their job-creating projects.
