Brooklyn SolarWorks (BSW) is New York City’s only turn-key solar installer focused exclusively on flat roof solar projects in Brooklyn’s dense residential core. The company was founded in February 2015 by three experienced New York-based solar professionals who recognized the enormous demand for residential solar in Brooklyn that was not being met by leading regional and national installers. To address this gap BSW has 1) developed a unique approach to solar design and installation for flat roof properties; 2) mastered NYC’s uniquely complex project permitting and code compliance requirements, and 3) deployed creative utilizations of existing net metering policies (remote and community net-metering) to increase the viability and value of solar adoption in the borough for multi-family properties. Every facet of BSW's business, from system design, to permit expediting and acquisition, and system installation is adapted to meet the unique needs and requirements of this unique market. As a consequence, the company is built to overcome impediments that have historically limited solar adoption in the borough, and to complete projects without errors or delays at maximum efficiency and speed.
