The U.S. Trade and Development Agency is hosting a Business Briefing on June 10, 2014 at the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco, CA to bring together Moroccan and U.S. solar stakeholders to forge partnerships for future solar project implementation.
- Morocco’s total power generation capacity in 2012 was 6,620 megawatts (MW) and consumption is increasing by about 6 percent a year.
- Morocco plans to invest $13.5 billion over the next four years to boost power generation by 4,585MW.
- Renewable energy is projected to account for more than 40% of this capacity increase.
- Solar power generation is expected to reach 2,000MW by 2020 using a public private partnership plan for project implementation.
