New SEIA Trade Committee Leadership

Joe Mendelson, director of policy and electricity markets and regulatory counsel for SolarCity, is the new chair of the SEIA Trade Committee.  Joe is taking over for Bill Morin, who led the Committee for several years, including through the U.S.-China trade dispute.
 
Joe leads SolarCity’s policy work related to its Buffalo Riverbend solar panel manufacturing facility, federal trade policy and environmental climate change policy.  Prior to joining SolarCity, Joe was the democratic chief climate counsel for the U.S. Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works.  He also served as director of policy for the National Wildlife Federation’s Climate & Energy Program and co-founded and served as the legal director of the Center for Food Safety and International Center for Technology Assessment.
 
Joe holds a Bachelor of Arts from Colgate University and a J.D. from the George Washington University School of Law. Born and raised in Buffalo, New York, he and his family reside in Arlington, Virginia.
