China's PV manufacturers launch new alliance in response to trade case ruling

SEIA Statement on Today's California Regulatory Decision on Net Metering
Today, the California Public Utilities Commission passed on a vote of 5-0 a new rule regarding net metering, primarily to clarify calculation of the state’s five-percent net metering cap. Net metering allows customers to earn credit for excess solar electricity they produce that is distributed to other customers on the grid. The Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) worked with members and stakeholders as part of the Coalition for Solar Rights asking for CPUC review of the calculation of the cap that is expected to be reached as soon as early next year by some utilities.
San Diego Could Be Getting More Solar Power
Solar backers and at least one member of the California Public Utilities Commission think there could be a lot more solar panels on roof tops around the state. The CPUC's Mike Peevey is asking regulators to change how utilities count the customers who sell power back into the grid, in a practice called "net metering."

New Haven recently cut a ribbon to commemorate another step in energy savings: solar panels atop the Fair Haven Branch Library. The project was made possible because more than 1,300 New Haven residents participated in a statewide clean energy options program launched in 2005. The solar panels were a reward from the state, said Christine Eppstein Tang, director of the city Office of Sustainability.
