The U.S. Department of Energy/National Nuclear Security Administration (DOE/NNSA) announced today it has finalized the license agreement with Whitethorn Solar, a wholly owned subsidiary of Juwi Solar Inc. (Juwi), for a solar electrical generation system onsite at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. When completed, the power generated by this system will represent the DOE/NNSA’s largest purchase of solar power from an onsite facility and the first in its western region.

With a growing commitment to renewable energy, Illinois now ranks third in the nation in the number of K-12 schools that have turned to solar energy to power their classrooms, save money and help the environment, according to a newly released nationwide study.
WASHINGTON, DC – In a report card deserving of the honor roll, a comprehensive, first-of-its-kind new study released today says America’s K-12 schools have shown explosive growth in their use of solar energy over the last decade, soaring from 303 kilowatts (kW) of installed capacity to 457,000 kW, while reducing carbon emissions by 442,799 metric tons annually – the equivalent of saving 50 million gallons of gasoline a year or taking nearly 100,000 cars off U.S. highways.

JinkoSolar Power Co. Ltd. has signed project investment agreements with the government of Hengfeng County in the province of Jiangxi, China, to develop 100 MW of photovoltaic power projects.

Hanwha Q CELLS has completed its first project in Portugal as an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor.
The 13.3MW plant in Montijo also uses 51,000 of the company’s Q.PRO-G3 modules. The plant was connected to the grid in May 2014.
