This is why Mosaic launched #PutSolarOnIt last year – and why dozens of the largest and most powerful solar advocating organizations have joined, including Climate Reality Project, Conergy, Environment America, Organizing for Action, Solar Energy Industry Associations, Women4Solar, VoteSolar, and others.
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Despite a strong first quarter, industry leaders are warning that future solar growth in Massachusetts is being jeopardized because net energy metering (NEM) caps have been reached in many areas of the state. These caps have been hit because of the exploding popularity of solar – evidenced by a 150 percent increase in new solar capacity in the first quarter of 2015, compared to the same quarter a year ago.
SunPower Corp. announced it has started construction on the 102 megawatt (AC) Henrietta solar photovoltaic (PV) project in Kings County, California.
North Carolina became the fourth state in the nation to top 1,000 megawatts (MW) of installed solar capacity during the first quarter of 2015. Today, North Carolina trails only California, Arizona and New Jersey in total installed solar capacity, according to the recently released U.S. Solar Market Insight Report compiled by GTM Research and the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA). But despite the state’s rapid progress, solar industry leaders are warning that attempts to freeze North Carolina’s renewable portfolio standard (RPS) will hurt solar growth, as well as the state’s economy.

With no end in sight to the ongoing solar trade dispute between the United States and China, the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) is offering an industry compromise between the U.S. and Chinese solar industries, which could serve as the centerpiece for a fair, negotiated settlement of outstanding issues, benefit end users, and encourage the proliferation of solar energy in the United States and globally.
Another iconic, blue-chip automaker has joined the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA). American Honda Motor Co., Inc. is a strong advocate of renewable energy – both here in the U.S. and around the world – and is working with SEIA and others to further the deployment of solar energy in America.
WASHINGTON, DC – As a strong supporter of solar, global energy company E.ON has become one of the newest board members at the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA). E.ON is an international provider of energy solutions and ranks as one of the world’s largest investor-owned power and gas companies, as well as one of the world’s leading renewable energy companies.
The Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) has welcomed Raghu Belur of Enphase Energy (NASDAQ: ENPH) as a new board member. The leading global microinverter company joins a long list of industry leaders that are focused on efforts to ramp up the use of solar power in America, which benefits both the U.S. economy and the environment.
What’s happening in the heartland of America is going almost unnoticed. But it shouldn’t. Solar is beginning to grow like a prairie fire across the Midwest. In a wide area stretching from Missouri to Ohio, the heavily traveled Interstate 70 corridor, solar is beginning to catch on in a big way. Missouri, Illinois, Indiana and Ohio have a combined total of nearly 400 megawatts (MW) of installed solar capacity — enough to power about 80,000 homes.
CEC has 34 projects nationwide, including six in Massachusetts. The Adams project is among its larger arrays, although it has a combined presence in Uxbridge of 3 MW. Its largest appears to be a 1.8 MW facility in Colorado.
Every week, The SEIA Solar Update includes top news stories covering the solar industry, major upcoming events, policy updates, and much more. This newsletter is open to SEIA Members and to the general public.
The industry's lobbying arm, the Solar Energy Industries Association, is working overtime to keep the incentive — the investment tax credit, or ITC — on the books past 2016, when its current treatment ends.
SunPower Corporation announced that it plans to partner with Apple to build two solar power projects totaling 40 megawatts (MW) in ABA Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefectures, Sichuan Province of the Peoples Republic of China (PRC). When complete, the two projects will be co-owned by Sichuan Shengtian New Energy Development Co., Ltd., SunPower's project development joint venture, and Apple.
