Tracking the Sun VII

Share

Lawrence Berkley National Lab's "Tracking the Sun" is an annual report that tracks and analyzes installed prices of solar PV. The report analyzes more than 300,000 individual residential, commercial and utility scale PV systems in 33 states. Key findings include:

  • Installed prices fell another 12-15% year over year
  • While price declines since 2008 have largely been attributed to module price reductions, noted installed price reductions have occurred despite module prices remaining relatively flat throughout 2013.
  • Non-module costs - including inverters, mounting hardware and permitting fees - have also seen substantial price declines.
  • State and uitility PV incentives have fallen which have offset installed price declines.
