Over the span of almost 20 years, Kim has worked in both the Legislative and Executive Branches of the Federal Government and the private sector in Washington, DC. Most recently she served as the Director of Federal Business Development at FLIR Systems. Kim began her career began in public service. Coming to Capitol Hill in January 1995, she served as a staffer in the office of Congressman Jim Bunning and transitioned to the Senate after Senator Bunning’s election in 1998. Following Hurricane Katrina, she accepted a political appointment as Director, Office of Legislative Affairs at the Department of Homeland Security.
Kim holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Georgetown College with a double major in Communications and Political Science. She continues to remain active with her alma mater. An avid boater she can often be found enjoying the waters in the DC area. Kim is an active member of the Kentucky State Society and recently joined their Board of Directors. She lives on Capitol Hill and shares her row home with the two best friends you can have in Washington, DC, her dogs. Mr. Wilkes is her West Highland Terrier and Tess is her Scottish Terrier.
