Position Summary

The Content & Programs Coordinator will contribute to the development and marketing of education content and programming across multiple departments. They will play a key role in ensuring we deliver high-quality education and engagement at SEIA’s Premier Events and with our educational partners, including RE+ Events. The role of this position is to assist our Events, Content, & Marketing teams to push SEIA’s strategic vision for the Solar+ Decade forward through cutting edge events and other industry education opportunities.

Reporting directly to SEIA’s Senior Manager of Content & Programs, the Content & Programs Coordinator will work closely with every SEIA department to prepare event content and manage the coordination of industry representatives, subject matter experts, community stakeholders, and political figures as they speak on our various education platforms. The Coordinator will assist with education opportunities including RE+ Events, SEIA Premier Events, webinars, workforce development programming, workshops, and other projects as they arise. The Content & Programs Coordinator will work closely with SEIA’s Marketing, Communications, Policy, and Membership teams to ensure strategic collaboration. Additionally, the Coordinator will participate in various SEIA committees to gain industry knowledge and identify substantive priorities and education opportunities. This position provides an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to utilize their organizational skills to assist in the content development for SEIA’s events and other content platforms and to contribute to event marketing communications.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated interest in the renewable energy industries or environmental policy. Top candidates will have experience implementing events and/or marketing and social media.

Core Duties & Responsibilities

  • Support content generation and speaker identification for SEIA & RE+ Events conferences, workshops, webinars, and tradeshows, including RE+, a top industry trade show that attracts 20,000 attendees each September
  • Assist Senior Manager of Content & Programs in strategic collaboration with SEIA staff experts, especially members of the State Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Congressional Affairs and Technical Services staff to incorporate SEIA’s advocacy and policy initiatives into SEIA & RE+ conferences, workshops, and other educational forums
  • Support the Content team, RE+ Events staff, and the Smart Electric Power Alliance (SEPA), in their management of multiple volunteer advisory councils composed of industry experts to support content development, create conference agendas, outline session topics, draft session descriptions, and recruit speakers
  • Update and draft speaker invitations, confirmations, and various communication templates for SEIA Premier Events. Track these items internally and keep online agenda consistent with statuses of speakers
  • Schedule session calls with presenters and staff for SEIA Premier Events. Conduct phone and email outreach to potential and confirmed speakers as directed by SEIA staff
  • Track speaking opportunities to assist the SEIA Content and Membership teams in identifying opportunities for member cultivation & inclusion as well as to track speaking opportunities for diverse and emerging voices
  • Collaborate with SEIA’s Public Affairs and Events staff to help promote and elevate the profile of SEIA programs & events, by drafting email and social media, maintaining the online agenda and speaker details, and preparing materials for events and webinars
  • Collaborate with SEIA’s Public Affairs staff and Digital Content Manager to support overall event management, including print collateral, website content, slide decks and other tasks as assigned
  • Assist with development, promotion, and coordination of SEIA webinars
  • Research and identify ongoing political, social, environmental, and economic challenges that we must overcome to make solar a leading source of new power generation in the 2020s
  • Manage events email inboxes and respond to general inquiries with input from SEIA staff

Professional Experience, Education & Other Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 1-3 years of events, marketing and/or environmental issues and clean energy, including internships
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills necessary as this position will frequently interact with members and speakers
  • Strong teamwork skills to collaborate with a broad range of association staff
  • Extremely organized and detail-oriented with excellent time management skills
  • Ability to prioritize projects assigned by variety of staff and adhere to deadlines
  • Experience with platforms such as Outlook, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and Zoom
  • Preference for candidates with experience or interest in energy markets, energy policy, and relevant data sources

Working Conditions

Work is in an office environment. The position will be located in our Washington, D.C. headquarters and will be expected to be in the office more than 50% of the time.

Compensation Range

$48,000 - $58,000 annually, based on experience and excellent benefits package.
