Markus Pitchford

Markus is the Central Regional Manager at SEIA, managing and supporting SEIA’s policy and advocacy efforts in Illinois, Michigan, and Texas. Prior to joining SEIA, Markus was the Director of External and Legislative Affairs for the Mayor of Waukegan in Illinois, where he covered economic development, infrastructure, climate change and sustainability. He also has ten years of experience with the Illinois Senate Democratic Caucus.

Melissa Alfano

Melissa Alfano is SEIA’s Director of Energy Markets and Counsel.  She represents SEIA regarding energy matters of importance to the solar industry before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and Regional Transmission Organizations. Before joining SEIA, Melissa represented public power utilities before FERC and served two years on FERC staff.  Melissa holds a B.S. in economics from James Madison University and a J.D. from George Mason University. She resides in Northern Virginia with her husband and two children.

Jeremiah Miller

As Director of Storage Markets and Policy, Jeremiah leads SEIA’s effort in energy storage integration with solar and stand-alone deployments. He supports federal as well as state storage strategy and innovation opportunities. He leads the Storage Advocacy Network as well as Energy Storage Committee working groups.

Jeanne Armstrong

Jeanne holds the position of Senior Regulatory Counsel at SEIA. In this position she manages regulatory initiatives before state agencies representing all major solar market segments. Currently focused on California she also will be assisting in regulatory matters to advance solar markets in other western states.

Ben Norris

Ben Norris is SEIA's Director of Environmental Policy & Counsel. He advises SEIA on policy, regulatory, and legal issues including siting and permitting, federal lands, wildlife, climate, and taxation. Before joining SEIA, Ben served as senior counsel at a national energy trade association and as an associate in the energy and environmental practice of a Washington, D.C. law firm. He lives in Washington, D.C. with his wife, daughter, son, and dog.
