Don't Throw Shade on Solar Jobs

Tariffs imposed on solar products in 2018 have harmed the U.S. economy, resulting in job losses and unrealized economic investment. For the U.S. to reach its full clean energy potential, the Trump administration must #StopSolarTariffs.

The Facts
  • The Trump administration imposed tariffs on all imported solar cells and modules in January 2018. The U.S. International Trade Commission is currently conducting a review of those tariffs, which are scheduled to stay in effect through 2022.
  • The tariffs have resulted in 62,000 lost jobs, 10.5 GW of solar projects that were never developed, and $19 billion in private investment that was never realized.
  • Solar module prices in the U.S. are now among the highest in the world.
  • To help fuel a clean energy economy for America, the Administration must remove these tariffs and allow solar to flourish.
