Position Description:

SEIA is currently building resources and programs to support our membership in building a more diverse and equitable solar economy. Intern will have an opportunity to learn about SEIA’s work in the industry, and do research and writing to help create tools for staff and SEIA members to support our Equity and Workforce Development efforts.   

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Research and Writing 

  • Researching and conducting outreach to support the growth and improvement of the diverse suppliers database 

  • Drafting DEIJ-related and workforce development member resources  

  • Drafting DEIJ and workforce-related blogs 

  • Researching and compiling a list of local community-based organizations doing solar training/construction training, especially those within communities of concern 

  • Researching and compiling list of high school/middle school skilled trades training programs or potential partners 

  • Attend and participate in webinars and meetings to help expand your understanding of current topics in the solar industry  

Requirements:

  • Curiosity 

  • Interest in promoting diversity, equity, inclusion and justice  

  • Interest in learning more about the solar industry 

  • Basic proficiency in internet-based research 

  • Writing & oral communication skills 

  • Ability to use basic functions in MS Word & Excel or Google Docs & Sheets 

This position is 20-30 hours/week. 

Academic Majors:  This internship is targeted at individuals with one or more years of college or equivalent experience. All majors/specializations are encouraged to apply.
