At SEIA, we believe that a diverse workforce creates a more resilient organization - one that supports a strong, equitable solar industry. We define diversity to include, but not be limited to, difference by race, ethnicity, religion, gender, gender expression, sexual orientation, age, culture, ability, class, employment level, and political identity. SEIA’s definition of diversity is evolving and subject to expansion.
SEIA envisions an industry that is committed to fostering a culture of inclusivity at all levels. We aim to achieve this by encouraging openness and transparency about diversity issues and progress. We are developing strategies, programs, and tools that seek to equalize opportunities within SEIA and allow for discussing and sharing best practices within the solar industry as a whole. To enable our members and the broader industry to reach this vision, we have developed a variety of resources and tools.

FAQ
We’re not sure where to begin, what should we do?
Read through the best practices guide and reflect on what your company might consider changing about their current practices. We encourage you to host an internal discussion at your company about your priorities, and then get involved through the DEIJ Leadership Council and Working Groups so you can get the latest information on new products, share resource gaps with us, and help spread the word about the important work SEIA is doing.
How do I sign up for a DEIJ Working Group?
You can sign up for any of the DEIJ Working Groups if your company is a member in good standing or you work for a partner organization that receives membership benefits (Watt level and above). Please contact [email protected] and your account manager will add you to the appropriate listserv so you can begin joining the meetings!
Is there a cost to join the DEIJ Working Groups?
There is no cost for current SEIA members. However, your company can support SEIA’s efforts through a sponsorship of the DEIJ Leadership Council. These funds directly offset costs for SEIA to develop tools and resources your company can use to further its DEIJ goals.
