WASHINGTON, D.C. — Following is a statement by Abigail Ross Hopper, president and CEO of the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA), on the U.S. Senate’s historic confirmation of President Biden’s Interior secretary nominee, Deb Haaland:

“Secretary Haaland’s confirmation is a historic moment for our country as we confront the existential threat of climate change. Secretary Haaland is a respected leader who will bring tremendous experience to managing America’s public lands, which hold considerable potential to address our energy and climate challenges.
