Brighter Future: A Study on Solar in U.S. Schools

This Webinar is Public: FREE to SEIA members and non-members

Originally recorded: Monday, September 29, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. EDT

Over the past year, The Solar Foundation and its research partner, SEIA, have been actively building the most comprehensive database known of K-12 schools with solar installations. With data on thousands of schools, the research team has used this database to learn about the characteristics of these systems and trends in this market segment over time. This webinar will present the results of the data collection and analysis effort, discussing changes in why schools are going solar, where these systems are being installed, how they are being financed, as well as other information relevant to nonprofits, solar companies, and individuals interested in supporting solar on K-12 schools. In addition, this webinar covers the results of an original analysis looking at the potential for schools currently without solar to pursue their own projects cost-effectively.

Attendees will learn:

·         The number of K-12 schools with solar currently installed and total utility electricity costs offset;

·         General characteristics and trends in existing school installations;

·         The potential for current non-solar schools to adopt solar.
