FERC Modifies PJM's Rules to Expedite Interconnection Study Process

Share

Relying on its enhanced regulatory capacity, SEIA recently convinced FERC to modify PJM’s rules to expedite the interconnection study process that often delays solar projects. In an order issued on April 30, 2012, in response to a SEIA request, FERC directed PJM to tighten the deadlines for completion of interconnection studies for projects 20 MW or less. This is a significant win for solar because PJM runs the electric grid in 13 states, ranging from New Jersey to parts of Illinois.
