Comments to the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) on Proposed Interagency CRA Q&As

On May 17, 2013, SEIA submitted comments to the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC). The comments identify banking regulations associated with the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) and the Public Welfare Investment authority that could be clarified and improved to recognize the public welfare and community development objectives served by the deployment of solar energy in the United States.

SEIA Comments on a Solar Plan for the Nevada National Security Site

Comments submitted November 9, 2011 by SEIA to NNSA regarding the Draft Site-Wide Environmental Impact Statement for the Continued Operation of the Nevada National Security Site (NNSS) and Off-Site Locations in the State of Nevada. NNSA and DOE should select the Expanded Operations Alternative because it maximizes the solar energy resources available at the NNSS.

SEIA Comments in Texas PUC Resource Adequacy Project No. 40000

On October 22, 2012, SEIA filed comments in PUCT Project No. 40000. SEIA advocated that the PUCT ensure that any new market design not exclude or otherwise prevent solar energy from investing in and participating in future market expansion. Furthermore, SEIA argued that the Commission should support policies that promote long-term contracts, which would encourage investment in new peaking generation and thereby improve resource adequacy. Finally, SEIA stated that the Commission should continue to recognize the importance of ERCOT's system reliability to retail customers by considering system quality in addition to resource adequacy when designing ERCOT market solutions to achieve specific reliability objectives.
