Brandon Audap serves as Director of Federal Affairs, where he specializes in tax policy. Before joining SEIA, Brandon advocated on behalf of the family business community on inheritance tax issues and directed research projects in support of preserving the American Dream while promoting lower taxes for all Americans. Brandon has advocated in other capacities, including for the National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA) and on the tax and energy policy teams on the government affairs practice at an international law firm.
Brandon got his start on Capitol Hill working from 2004 – 2007 on the majority staff at the House Committee on Ways and Means for his hometown Congressman and Committee Chairman Bill Thomas. During that time, tax staff negotiated the tax title to the Energy Policy Act of 2005, which created the solar ITC.
Brandon holds an MPA for The George Washington University and a BA in Public Administration from California State University, Bakersfield. In his free time, he enjoys movies, fishing, following politics, playing Legos with his nephews, and spending time with his wife, who is attending medical school.
