Celina Cunningham serves as Chief of Staff at the Solar Energy Industries Association. Before joining SEIA, Celina served in the Obama Administration in the Department of the Interior for nearly five years, first in the office of the Assistant Secretary for Land and Minerals Management and the last three years as the Senior Advisor to the Director of the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM). Celina provided strategic advice to the BOEM Director and Department leadership on complex, long-range energy policies, including the development of the nation’s five-year program for oil and gas activities and key advancements to the offshore wind program, and improvements to the permitting process for solar and wind projects on Federal lands.
Prior to her service in the Interior Department, Celina served as Legislative Director to U.S. Representative Jay Inslee (WA), a national leader on progressive energy and environment policies, where she was responsible for managing his legislative efforts on the Energy and Commerce and Natural Resources Committees. She received a BA in Philosophy from Colorado College, and began her career by organizing and fundraising for environmental and political campaigns. In her spare time, you can find Celina playing soccer or spending time with her family and friends in the outdoors.
