As the Congressional Affairs Coordinator, Jasmile supports SEIA’s congressional affairs team in their work to shape energy, tax, trade, appropriations, and other policies in support of the solar industry. She is dedicated to helping shaping policy through an environmental justice lens to ensure the benefits of solar energy are available to all communities.
Prior to joining SEIA, Jasmile spent time working with the federal policy team of Hispanic Federation (HF), the nation’s premier Latino nonprofit membership organization. Jasmile brings experience from her time on the hill, campaign organizing at the state and federal levels during the 2020 election cycle, and environmental justice advocacy from her nonprofit work.
Jasmile holds a B.A. in Political Science & Philosophy from American University in Washington, D.C. and is working towards her Master of Public Administration at AU where she is expected to graduate in Spring 2023. She is a Miami Beach native who loves to read, attend Washington Nationals games, and explore D.C.s museums.
