SEIA Statement on New Jersey Transitioning Away From its SREC Program

New Jersey Lawmakers Pass Clean Energy Bills to Spur State’s Renewable Economy

TRENTON, NJ - To clean energy advocates and the solar industry’s delight, New Jersey lawmakers approved companion bills today that will significantly advance New Jersey’s clean energy economy. The Assembly passed A3723 (50-20) and the Senate passed S2314 (29-8). The bills will stabilize and expand New Jersey’s renewable market and help extend the cost-saving benefits of solar to more families, communities and businesses in the state.

Advocates Applaud Momentum on Clean Energy as Bills Advance in New Jersey Legislature

TRENTON, N.J. -State and national solar energy advocates today thanked lawmaker leadership for approving bills to advance New Jersey’s clean energy economy. Assemblyman John McKeon’s A3723 was passed in the Assembly Appropriations Committee and Senator Bob Smith’s S2314 was passed in the Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee. The companion bills will stabilize and expand New Jersey’s renewable economy and help extend the cost-saving benefits of solar to more families, communities and businesses in the state.

Solar Advocates Welcome Bills to Advance New Jersey’s Clean Energy Economy

TRENTON, New Jersey - State and national solar energy advocates today expressed strong support for both A3723 and S2314 to stabilize and expand New Jersey’s renewable economy. Assemblyman John McKeon’s bill and its companion in the Senate, S2314 from Senator Bob Smith, consider the renewable energy provisions that were previously included in S877, an earlier comprehensive energy package that was split to consider nuclear and clean energy components independent of each other.

SEIA Urges New Jersey Legislature to Pass Bill Raising State’s Solar Energy Goal

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) urged the New Jersey Legislature to pass Senate Bill 877 to keep the state’s solar industry growing and maintain the more than 7,100 solar jobs in one of the largest solar markets in the U.S.   The bill is being examined today in a joint hearing held by the state Senate Budget and Appropriations and the Assembly Telecommunications and Utilities committees.

New Jersey Legislature Raises State’s Solar Energy Goal, Incentivizing Growth in Jobs and Clean Power

Bipartisan Efforts Help to Keep New Jersey Solar Installations on Track

If approved and signed into law by Gov. Chris Christie, bipartisan legislation approved this week by the New Jersey Legislature will help to keep New Jersey solar installations on track for 2015. The state is projected to add nearly 300 megawatts (MW) of new installed solar capacity, according to the recently released U.S. Solar Market Insight Report compiled by GTM Research and the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA).

New Jersey Ranks 3rd in U.S. in Total Solar Capacity

WASHINGTON, DC – Showing growth in all solar sectors, New Jersey had the sixth most new solar capacity added last year in the nation, according to the recently-released U.S. Solar Market Insight 2014 Year in Review. The state also maintained its Top 3 ranking in total installed capacity, finishing the year behind only California and Arizona.
