Massachusetts Approves Legislation Designed to Expand SHC Technologies

In a move expected to spur solar heating and cooling (SHC) deployment across the state, the Massachusetts Legislature has approved SB 2214 and sent it to Governor Deval Patrick for his signature. Iowa Supreme Court Hands Down Huge Win for Solar

In a setback to the regulated utility model, the Iowa Supreme Court has ruled that a power purchase agreement (PPA) between the city of Dubuque and Eagle Point Solar does not violate state law. Regulated utility companies had fought the arrangement, claiming to have exclusive rights to sell to customers in their service areas. Today, Iowa’s high court disagreed.

CPUC Approves Settlement to Extend Solar*Rewards Program

SEIA, NECEC Endorse Massachusetts’s Precedent-setting Legislation to Eliminate Solar Net Metering Cap

Saying it reflects consensus from major clean energy, utility and environmental stakeholders while solidifying the Commonwealth’s commitment to 1,600 megawatts (MW) of solar energy by 2020, the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) and the New England Clean Energy Council (NECEC) today announced their support for proposed legislation for a new net metering and renewable energy incentive program that will result in hundreds of millions of dollars in cost savings for ratepayers.
