SEIA Amps Up Storage Advocacy

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) is announcing a new venture to prioritize energy storage across policy advocacy, membership, research and events. The venture, called the Storage Advocacy Network, will be a formal branch of SEIA and serve as a national and state advocacy voice for energy storage.

The SEIA Traceability Protocol (Protocol) lays out a series of steps that a manufacturer can take to track the origin of material inputs through specified stage(s) of production, processing, and distribution, e.g., the factory location and production date of polysilicon used in a finished solar module. The Protocol aims at helping capture and making transparently available to stakeholders which companies and facilities participated in the manufacturing of renewable energy products on the market.

Solar Market Insight Report: 2020 Year-in-Review Webinar

In a ground-breaking year for the U.S. solar industry, solar led all technologies in new electric-generating capacity added, installing a record 19.2 gigawatts (GWdc) in 2020 according to the U.S. Solar Market Insight 2020 Year-in-Review report released this week. SEIA and Wood Mackenzie’s report included a 10-year forecast for the first time ever, showing that the U.S. solar industry is on track to quadruple in size over the next decade.
