Congressional Site Visit Toolkit

By inviting your elected officials to visit a solar facility or installation in their district, you can begin to establish a meaningful relationship with them and their staff. These visits demonstrate the impact of your company, and the industry overall, on the local community. Tours at your facility, office, or project site provide a great opportunity for your elected official to meet you and your employees and can be a good venue to discuss your company’s issues and concerns in depth. By seeing the operations first-hand, your elected official will have a better understanding of how certain policies can impact the industry and affect potential job growth in their district or state. This toolkit will help walk you through how to host a member of Congress at your project site, office, or other location.

Thank Your Member of Congress for Passing the Inflation Reduction Act

On August 16, 2022, the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) was signed into law by President Biden, sparking the biggest investment in solar and clean energy ever made in U.S. history.

The law contains 10-year tax incentives for solar and storage deployment, investments in domestic solar manufacturing and other critical energy provisions. This law will create a stable policy environment for years to come, helping to grow private investments, create American jobs, and make significant progress on climate change.

Please take a moment to reach out to your member of Congress to share the impact this has on your business, and to thank them for passing this historic legislation.

SolarPAC

The U.S. solar industry operates in a complex regulatory environment that depends on smart, consistent policies at the national and state level. One way SEIA can be an effective public policy advocate for the solar industry is through a strong and vibrant PAC. As a maturing industry, we have a responsibility to support policymakers who will back pro-solar policies and provide financial contributions to the political campaigns of key policymakers.
