Advocates Celebrate Wins for Clean Energy in Georgia, Urge Action on Rooftop Solar

ATLANTA – In a victory for Georgia consumers and the clean energy economy, the Georgia Public Service Commission (PSC) voted to approve a solar resource plan that should result in an increase in Georgia Power’s solar energy procurement by 6 to 9 gigawatts through 2035 and add 500 megawatts of battery storage to the energy grid. When paired with solar, energy storage can keep the lights on reliably, even during extreme weather conditions and spikes in electricity demand.

Mississippi Adopts New Net Metering Rules, Takes Step Toward Equitable Growth of Residential Solar Market

JACKSON, MS and WASHINGTON, D.C. — Yesterday, the Mississippi Public Service Commission (PSC) voted to adopt its updated Net Metering and Interconnection Rules. The new rules expand the state’s net metering program by raising the participation cap for rooftop solar and prioritizing solar adoption for low-to-moderate income (LMI) customers, among other steps. Over 400 Companies Urge Congress to Act as Solar Industry Rallies for Reconciliation Push

WASHINGTON D.C. — The U.S. solar and storage industry and its allies are ramping up a push for Congress to pass a reconciliation bill with historic clean energy deployment and manufacturing provisions. National Solar Trade Association Expands Board of Directors at Pivotal Moment for Solar Industry

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Four companies, CEP Renewables, Kiewit Energy Group, Monarch Private Capital, and Moss & Associates, are joining the board of directors of the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA). FERC Reveals Interconnection Reforms That Could Unleash Solar Energy Potential

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) issued a notice of proposed rulemaking (NOPR) detailing the proposed interconnection reforms the Commission would like to adopt in order to clear interconnection backlogs and speed clean energy deployment.
