Report: Tennessee Solar Industry Picks Up the Pace

It was a historic year for the United States solar energy industry in 2011.

The market for photovoltaic installations continued to boom, as the U.S. installed 1,855 megawatts of PV (photovoltaic) infrastructure, representing 109 percent growth over 2010, according to the U.S. Solar Market Insight 2011 Year-In-Review Report.

The report also said that the fourth quarter of 2011 saw 776 megawatts of PV installed, by far the most of any quarter in U.S. history.
