WASHINGTON, DC – Coming on the heels of the Solar Energy Industries Association’s (SEIA) encouraging second-quarter industry report, the Solar Power Mid-Atlantic conference wrapped up this week to much applause. The first-ever Solar Power Mid-Atlantic drew hundreds of solar professionals from New Jersey, Delaware, Pennsylvania and Maryland to the Atlantic City Convention Center for two days of panels and talks on solar opportunities in the region.

“This conference couldn’t have come at a better time. So far this year, all four of these states have gotten 100 percent of their new electric-generating capacity from distributed generation – a tremendous achievement. What's more, we’re predicting another 1.5 gigawatts (GW) of solar capacity to be added in the Mid-Atlantic region over the next two to three years,” said Rhone Resch, president and CEO of the Solar Energy Industries Association. “In all, there is now nearly 16GW of solar capacity installed in the U.S., powering a $15-billion-a-year industry. The Mid-Atlantic has been a key part of solar’s remarkable growth, and we’d like to thank our partners and all the solar professionals who took part in this highly successful conference.”
