SEIA Elects New Officers for 2011-2012
The Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) announced today it has elected the following officers to serve on SEIA’s Board of Directors Executive Committee: Chairman Roger Efird, managing director of Suntech America; Vice-Chairwoman Julie Blunden, Executive Vice President, Public Policy and Corporate Communications at SunPower Corp.; Treasurer Chris O’Brien, Head of Market Development and regional President at Oerlikon Solar; and Secretary John Stanton, Vice President of Government Affairs for SolarCity. SEIA, GTM Research Study Finds U.S. is Major Solar Exporter
The Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA®) and GTM Research today released the most comprehensive study to date analyzing trade flow and domestic value creation in the U.S. solar industry. “U.S. Solar Energy Trade Assessment 2010” found the U.S. solar industry is a significant net exporter of solar energy products, with net exports totaling $723 million in 2009. Additionally, U.S. solar installations created $2.6 billion in direct value to support the U.S. economy.
